 Floor Customization in Your Home

Making a personal expression in your home can be done by choosing the proper flooring to compliment your personality and ultimately turn your house into a home.

Your new house is an important purchase of your lifetime and will be enhanced by choosing objects of customization, such as the flooring. Many different types of flooring exist today and you will be sure to find the proper accents to your new home when you take a small amount of time to discover all of the possibilities.

Changing the flooring in your home for a customization purpose will transform any room into something spectacular and more importantly, will reflect your personality and your style, unlike prefabricated homes.

Traditional flooring choices are hardwood, ceramic tile and carpet. However, there are many more in the flooring industry today. There are also bamboo, marble, rubber and cork flooring to choose from. A recent addition to modern flooring is a type of floor that actually heats your room and it is called radiant floor heating, warm tiles or simply heated flooring.

A natural beauty and an always classic choice for flooring is the hardwood floor. Hardwood is a staple within the industry and has been around for over centuries. It gives a warm comfort to the room with a timeless splendor. You can choose from Maple, Pine, Hickory, Birch, Pecan, Walnut, Cherry and Beech, depending on your customization preference.

One of the fastest growing trends for flooring and home customization is the installation of laminate floors. This type of floor has gotten its popularity from Europe originally, although it is becoming increasingly famous in America, as well. One of the prominent reasons for the increased interest is that it is less expensive than hardwood, easier to maintain and resists scratches, burns and chipping. This kind of flooring is excellent for high traffic spots in your home.

The next choice of flooring that is quite well-known is carpeting and has also been used for many years. The flooring industry has introduced a new type of carpet installation that replaces the troublesome and bulky original carpeting that came in whole pieces. This new kind of carpeting comes in individual square tiles and is superior for a couple of reasons; It is easy to install by the average homeowner and when spills are made, only one single tile needs to be replaced. That is a definite bonus.

Marble floors are beautiful and fairly easy to install on your own. The marble flooring comes in tiles that are usually about 12x12 and are available in many different colors. The rich looking marble floor would compliment most rooms in your house for customization and will bring your personality to your home. Marble floors would be perfect for an elegant looking foyer or entrance to your home.

A newcomer to the flooring industry is the bamboo floor. This type of flooring is versatile and very durable and has a natural variation of colors that are unique to the bamboo. The carbonization of the bamboo normally creates a light tan color or a honey brown shade. Flooring with bamboo is more friendly to the environment because of the fact that bamboo is a grass and not actually wood. It would go perfectly as a den customization or even a family room.

Other types of flooring that you could use for customization of your new home are rubber flooring, vinyl sheet and linoleum. All of these types of flooring are easy to clean, durable and have proven to be water resistant in indoor and outdoor areas. Many of the rooms in your home like playrooms, recreation rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms are perfect places to install these kinds of flooring because of the low maintenance that is required to retain their sheen. They come in various colors, textures and designs.

Any of these suggested flooring options will give your house a definite customization that will exude your own personal style and flair. After all, they say that a house isn't a home until you put a little love into it, so choose your new flooring wisely and you will be proud to call your new house a home.
